Seems it's over 44,000 downloads now - maybe more people have seen this than have seen my comix - of course thats more a tribute to Mr. Bell than anything I actually did... (The Sound track, by the Vipers, is fun too)... Technical note: Theres a lot of frame dropping on this YouTube version, youre seeing maybe every other frame - the original does animate somewhat smoother...
Whatever it's worth dept. - for March of that year, I made an Art Bell tribute calendar - this was the first appearance of the Green Alien Bunnies - it's in the old calendar section for 2001, or you can link to it here...
I also suppose I should admit to something that Im somewhat less proud of - But I did contribute to the new Demi the Demoness Collection... (On the list of contributors, I Guess Im More) I cant speak for anything else in the book, as I havent seen it, but if you miss seein my contribs, then you wont have missed much... I guess it wont hurt if I post small pix of the pencils here. plus thumbnails of the finished inx, which I'm using as buttons - it probably wouldn't be ethical to post the finished works full sized, but I think just the pencils should be okay...
I also contributed to the San Diego Comic Con Booklet (Again) this year, (Though I didnt attend) But if you had been there, you might have found this pix - my tribute to Robert A. Heinlein... This is the first pix Ive done for the program booklet that I didnt try to work in a Bunny somehow... Guess I just felt that for Mr. Heinlein, I shouldnt Schlock it up... If youve never read his The Green Hills of Earth I recommend it, - a magical bit of psudo-history for a future that will never be... That along with, Red Planet plus Have Space Suit, Will Travel are my favorites of his works...
Also should give Jack Cole credit for the nub of this months swimsuit gag...
A note on the 35W bridge Disaster, I remember driving across this bridge when it was new, before it was connected up to the freeway... It replaced the old Seven Corners (Cedar Ave) bridge, which, back in the 60s, literally was falling apart - When driving across the Seven Corners bridge, we always were looking to check for a new chunk of railing missing or bit of outer edge sidewalk... (the repair crews would just put up a barricade to block off where the missing chunk had been) As soon as the 35W bridge was completed, they closed the old Seven Corners Bridge (which was later largely rebuilt) and diverted the traffic over the new 35W bridge, even before the freeway that it now connects to was completed...
